Zambians Urged to remain Peaceful and respectful




The Catholic Bishops of Zambia appeal to the nation and the people of Zambia to remain calm, respectful and peaceful as the mourning of the late president continues and as the country prepares to give him honorable send off. Through a press release, the Conference’s Secretary General Very Reverend Fr. Cleophas Lungu further appealed to the political leaders to be more cautious in their actions and utterances in order to avoid raising tension urging them to be sensitive to the needs and the feelings of the bereaved family.
“It is therefore our sincere hope and prayer that as a peace loving and God fearing nation, we shall endeavor to avoid any acts of violence and politicking during this period of mourning. Instead, we should remain united in prayer for continued peace and unity in the nation.”


The late president Micheal Chilufya Sata Who died on 28th October after long illness was the fifth president of Zambia. He assumed office in October 2011after wining General election with popularity vote. He died at the age of 77.
